Good morning, Father.<\/p>\n

During 2016 help me to be faithful in my prayer walk. It is most important that we who serve preschoolers remember to pray for the next generation. Teach me how to pray for these children.<\/p>\n

Father, help me to worship the KING this Christmas. I want to take a prayer journey to Bethlehem. I desire each day, on my own, with my family, or with the preschoolers I encounter, to step aside for a few minutes to worship Him for who He is and what He means to me.<\/p>\n

The Legend of the Candy Cane is a fascinating story. May you be inspired by the simple wonder of Christmas.
\n\u00a0 August was a candy maker in Cologne, Germany. And one Christmas Eve, many, many years ago, he brought a special gift to the grand cathedral in Cologne. It was the very first candy cane. August had made it himself.<\/em>
\n\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cI gave it the shape of the letter \u2018J,\u2019 the first letter of Jesus\u2019 name,” August told the king. \u201cAnd, as you can see, when I turn it upside down, it becomes a shepherd\u2019s staff. Jesus, you know, is our Good Shepherd.\u201d<\/em>
\n\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cIt is made of pure, white peppermint to remind us that Jesus is pure–the Son of God! But it is also striped with red. That reminds us of the blood Jesus shed for you and for me,\u201d August concluded.<\/em><\/p>\n

“Today a Savior, who is Messiah the Lord, was born for you in the city of David.” (Luke 2:11, HCSB)<\/p>\n

In the powerful name of Jesus–a banner for all the peoples, Alpha and Omega, Anointed One, Chief Shepherd, Hope of Israel, Image of the Invisible God, the bright Morning Star.<\/p>\n
