We are called, empowered, and blessed to be disciples of JESUS multiplying disciples with JESUS. Groups are ongoing biblical communities that grow and care for one another as we are equipped to make disciples. Below is the Brentwood Baptist DxD strategy. This is our church’s strategy for making disciples who multiply disciples.

DxD Strategy: The 5 G’s

Gospel Conversations

Gospel Conversations mean sharing the good news of Jesus with the lost and searching, trusting the Holy Spirit with the results.

Key Texts:

1 Corinthians 15.3-4 – For I passed on to you as most important what I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that the was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures

1 Peter 3.15-16 – In your hearts regard Christ the Lord as holy, ready at any time to give a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you.

Groups

Groups are ongoing biblical communities that grow, care, and equip.

Key Texts:

Acts 2.42,46 – They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer. Every day they devoted themselves to meeting together in the temple, and broke bread from house to house.

John 13.15 – By this they will know that you are my disciples, that you have love for one another.

Going

Going means service to one’s campus, neighbors, and the nations to imitate Jesus’ love for believers and for those yet to believe.

Key Texts:

Acts 1.8 – You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.

Mathew 4.19-23 – Now Jesus began to go all over Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.

Gather

Believers assembling together (at least) weekly to worship God through singing, preaching, and encouraging one another to good works.

Key Texts:

Hebrews 10.24-25 – Let us consider one another in order to provoke love and good works, not neglecting to gather together as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging each other all the more as you see the day approaching.

Acts 20.7 – On the first day of the week we assembled to break bread.

Ephesians 5.18-20 – Be filled by the Spirit speaking to one another in songs, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making music with your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Give

Serving the kingdom of God with one’s time, talent, and treasure.

Key Texts:

Proverbs 3.9 – Honor the Lord with your possessions and with the first produce of your entire harvest.

2 Corinthians 9.7 – Each person should do as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or out of compulsion since God loves a cheerful giver.

Acts 4.32 – Now the entire group of those who believed were of one heart and mind, and no one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but instead they held everything in common.
