Good morning, Father.
During 2016 help me to be faithful in my prayer walk. It is most important that we who serve preschoolers remember to pray for the next generation. Father, Easter is a unique holiday for Christians. Why? Because it carries weight. As I think of the preschoolers I will encounter this week, it is not easy to explain that Jesus had to be crucified, tortured, and hung on a cross so that the stone could be rolled away. The details of Jesus’ painful suffering is horrifying and terrifying, especially to young children. Lord, help me to know where they are spiritually in their understanding so that I will realize how to start the conversation about Easter. May I focus on what I do around the resurrection and that Jesus loves them and will always be with them. Help me discover age-appropriate activities and resources that are available for me to use.
“When He had received the drink, Jesus said, ‘It is finished.’ With that He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.” John 19:30
