Good morning, Father.

During 2017 help me to be faithful in my prayer walk. It is most important that we who serve preschoolers remember to pray for the next generation. Teach me how to pray blessings for these children and their families.

Imagine sitting on a warm, 85 degrees, partly sunny beach. In the distance you watch a family as they fly a kite. They are laughing, running around, keeping the kite high as it soars with the gusty winds. You notice that the kite is flying so high that you cannot see it. Yet they keep flying the kite. So I think to myself, how do they know it’s still there when it is no longer in sight? They feel it’s tug. You know, we feel the same thing. We feel the pull of heaven deep down inside.
Augustine wrote, “Thou madest us for Thyself, and our heart is restless, until it (rests) in Thee.” There is a desire in us, a craving in us, that nothing on this earth will ever satisfy. We are uniquely made in the image of God with a soul and a desire to know the God who created us. (*taken from Greg Laurie’s book, The Pull of Heaven)

Father, my heart’s desire is that the families that I serve in preschool at BBC will know You. Surround them with good, loving, faithful, and supportive Christian relationships. May their bond grow in Christlikeness as they raise their families.

“He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has put eternity in their hearts . . . .” (Ecclesiastes 3:11, HCSB)

Father God, You created people with purpose. As a person who serves You in the Preschool ministry, I ask for myself a deep satisfaction as I carry out my unique role. We all have to figure out our roles in life, and preschoolers love to begin figuring that out by role playing. I am fascinated as I watch them act out cooking, caring for babies, pretending to be cats that need care, or building with blocks. Children are so imaginative. Help them to grow as they learn about daily tasks that will one day contribute to a larger purpose in their lives. Who knows, I may have a future nanny, missionary, mom, preacher, doctor, firefighter and construction worker in my midst.

“For I know the plans I have for you – ‘this is the LORD’s declaration’ – plans for your welfare, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11, HCSB)
