Good morning, Father.

As the beginning of the school year approaches, our preschoolers will begin journeys with new teachers and friends. For some children that will be hard. So I am asking that You help them develop a strong self-esteem that is rooted in the realization that they are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:10).  Show me ways I can instill in them their true worth and value. Thank You, Father, for allowing me to be a part of their lives this past year.

Good morning, Father.

Sadly, we live in a society that is all about “me” and “mine.”  My prayer today is that You would help the children I teach to develop servants’ hearts and that they would serve wholeheartedly, as if they were serving You and not men. Show me how I can begin to instill a heart of compassion in the children I teach. Open their hearts to the “least of these,” that they may serve as You prompt them.

Good morning, Father.

Sometimes the Bible stories we share in Sunday School are difficult for my children to grasp. For example, why would anyone want to crucify Jesus? And how could He love those who persecuted Him? God’s mercy for people is undeniable truth. He pursues His own as the Hound of Heaven. God, help me teach my children how to pray for those who do wrong to (persecute) them. Help them see wrongdoers the way You see them.

“Be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.” (Luke 6:36, HCSB)

Good morning, Father.

I am thankful to live in America where I can worship You openly, embrace freedoms daily, and pursue dreams that I believe You instill in my heart. This is my prayer for my preschoolers: “Help them to walk in integrity and honesty and be blameless in all their ways so when the day comes no one can talk evil of them. May integrity and honesty be their virtue and their protection.” ( See Psalm 25:21.)

Good morning, Father.

As Brentwood Baptist Church celebrates a homecoming of all of its missionaries this Sunday, help me weave the importance of their work into conversations I may have with the children and their parents. My prayer would be, “Lord, please help the girls and boys  develop a desire to see Your glory declared among the nations, Your wonderful works among all peoples.” (Psalm 96:3)

Good morning, Father.

Summer months lead to a relaxed life style and less structure. While this is important as we refuel for school in the fall, I pray that the children I encounter in preschool will show proper respect to everyone, as Your Word commands. “Show proper respect to everyone, Love the family of believers, fear God.” (1 Peter 2:17, New International Version)

In the power of Jesus’ name, Amen.

Good morning, Father.

May the Holy Spirit anoint this generation with Your power so they will be dynamic witnesses for Jesus Christ. Help them learn the basic truths of Your Word, bury them deep in their hearts, and come to know You as Lord and Savior. Help me instruct them in love with Your truths as we journey together through VBS and other activities provided by this church. (Read 1 Peter 3:15.)

As you know, it is time to prepare for VBS. Help me to manage my time to pray, plan, and prepare for those I will encounter the week of June 8-12. Father, I am counting on You to supply my needs where there is a void. It is for Your glory and by Your power that all things will be accomplished. Read Ephesians 4:15-16.

Each Sunday I have this opportunity to serve You with excellence. Help me to love well. As I pray for my children, I ask that they always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else.

Good morning, Father.

I can’t believe it is almost summer. Graduations are coming soon, vacations are being planned, visitors will come and go and, honestly, membership attendance at church will become sporadic. I am praying Luke 17:5-6 and Hebrews 11:1-40 for the preschoolers I will encounter as we enter summer:  “I pray that faith will find root and grow in my children’s hearts, that by faith they may gain what has been promised to them.”
