Good morning, Father.

As we approach Mother’s Day, I am reminded of the heart You have for women. The Bible contains many stories of how You elevated women and gave them value, purpose, and position. Only You can understand the heart of a woman. Lord, You use mothers and women who are like our mothers to intercede for the next generation. Today, we pray for the unimaginable. Shower my children and those I serve with blessings that exceed my dreams. May Your love flow abundantly into their lives.

“I pray that you . . . may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the length and width, height and depth of God’s love, and to know the Messiah’s love that surpasses knowledge, so you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think–according to the power that works in you–to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever.” (Ephesians 3:17-20, HCSB)

In the power of Jesus’ name, Amen.

Good morning, Father.

The preschoolers I encounter seem to enjoy being at church, interacting with friends, playing with provided materials, and growing spiritually as well as physically. Help me to teach them about the JOY that comes from a relationship with You; it is different from being happy. As they grow, help these children learn about the inner peace that comes from knowing You, learning about Your Word, singing hymns of praise to You, and  praying prayers that are heard and answered. May each child be filled until their spirit overflows with the joy of Your Word, Your sacrifice, and with the Holy Spirit.

In the power of Jesus’ name, Amen.

Good morning, Father.

One of my favorite moments on Sunday morning is when our class comes to you in prayer. To witness young hearts bowing in reverence and sometimes lying prostrate on the floor is humbling. Help me to teach these children about “touching the hem of Your garment” through prayer. May habits of prayer develop and remain in their hearts for a lifetime.

Grant, Lord, that my children’s lives may be marked by prayerfulness, that they may learn to pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. (See Ephesians 6:18.)

In the power of Jesus’ name, Amen.

Good morning, Father.

As I pray for my preschoolers, I am reminded that they are born with a sinful nature because of the fall of Adam and Eve. It is in their nature to go through those stages of “me” and “mine.” We call that stage “the terrible twos” which sometimes continues on through their growth and development. Father, when the world tells these children to give in to their desires, give them the resolve and strength to say “no.” Help them as they grow and develop to not be like many others around them, but let them be alert and self-controlled in all they do.

In the power of Jesus’ name, Amen.

Good morning, Father.

Your Word instructs us to be ” . . . quick to hear, slow to speak . . .” (James 1:19).  Remind me as I serve preschoolers to listen well–first to You, as I am preparing for Sunday, and second to the conversations that take place with the children. There is a time to speak, but there is also a time to listen.

Good morning, Father.

Thankfulness should be a daily, moment by moment attitude of my heart. Show me how to teach thankfulness to the precious children I serve week after week. Let thankfulness in all that You provide for us always be at the center of my heart and my children’s hearts.

“I never stop giving thanks for you, as I remember you in my prayers.”  (Ephesians 1:16, HCSB)

Good morning, Father.

There is nothing more precious than knowing I am Your child, redeemed, and valued. How can anyone doubt this because of the work Jesus did on the cross? Father, remind the girls and boys that I encounter that they are Your children. As they grow, help them learn what it means to hide their hearts with Yours. Guide them to realize that they are heirs to Your throne and royalty with Christ.

“But to all who did receive Him, He gave them the right to be children of God.” (John 1:12)

Good morning, Father.

I love the call You have given me to serve with preschoolers. But sometimes because of their ages or personalities, sharing and getting along is difficult for them. Father, I ask that you create in these children self-discipline. May they acquire a disciplined and prudent life–doing what is fair, right, and just.  (Proverbs 1:3)

Good morning, Father.

As I pray for the children I will encounter this week, I ask that You keep each child’s heart soft. Help them to be wise in their ways to forgive as you have forgiven them.

“And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.” Mark 11:25-26

Good morning, Father.

I desire to teach Your children to hunger for You. My prayer is that they hear as I READ them many stories from Your Word. Help me TEACH them how to pray and trust that You hear them.

HELP them, Father, find godly friends. SHOW them that walking with You brings happiness and peace. May I be fervent to PRAY with and for them about everything.

In the power of Jesus’ name, Amen.
