NEW CARPET Coming

When you arrive on Sunday, you will see new carpet in the Preschool hallway. The carpet will be done in sections, so bear with us as we make progress. I know this has been a long time coming. You will see green and brown carpet that depicts a pathway through the grass. We are building toward a “Woodland” theme. This Sunday you will see posters of the theme, so take a minute to look at them.

STEP RIGHT UP to Serve Campaign

We are making progress in the enlistment campaign. We have started our talks with prospective teachers, taking them through their orientation and training. God is providing! Thank you for praying, but don’t stop now. I am grateful for those who have stepped up and followed God’s call to teach.

I am equally grateful for you, too. You are indeed an example to others. So many parents have stopped me and Sandra to say how grateful they are for their children’s teachers. Thank you, thank you! God truly is using us to help lay a foundation for spiritual development for all of our children. Teachers in KidLife, BYCS and those of you in Sunday School are working hard to minister, not only to our preschoolers, but to their parents.

Have a safe and restful weekend.  See you all on Sunday!

Good morning, Father.

As I think about the families I touch and the children I teach in Preschool, I want them to know You take care of them. May my actions line up with Your heart and love for them. May my words be kind, helpful, fun, and full of Your grace. Help me to be all that You see me as because I want others to know You and Your truth as I serve You. Help me to care for others like You.

“Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall.”           Psalm 55:22

In the power of Jesus’ name, Amen.

Good morning,  Father.

You alone are worthy of all glory, honor, and praise. As I teach or serve in Preschool, my heart’s desire is to bring You a sacrifice of praise. If what I bring does not cost me something, it is not a sacrifice. I see that in Jesus’ example on the cross. So my sacrifice to You is my time–time to prepare, time to be punctual, time to lay a foundation in the lives of children re: church, family, and self.

“I will sacrifice a voluntary offering to you; I will praise your name, O LORD, for it is good.”      (Psalm 54:6)

In the power of Jesus’ name, Amen.

Good morning, Father

I have this awesome opportunity to meet the needs of each child as I teach about God, Jesus, and the Bible. Inspire me to bless others as I teach preschoolers and interact with their families. Give me immediate intuition on how to meet unexpected situations as the children arrive, interact in the class, and dismiss with their parents.

“My daughter, pay attention to my wisdom, listen to my words of insight, that you may maintain discretion and your lips may preserve knowledge.”  (Proverbs 5:1-2)

In the power of Jesus’ name, Amen.

New Flooring

Happy Days are here!  We have been installing new Luxury Vinyl Tile in our Preschool classrooms since last week. The plan is to install the flooring in stages, so if your classroom has not been done yet, it will be in the next week or so. We are not installing new flooring in the following classrooms: 1141, 1142, 1143, 1144, and 1145. Since these rooms are used for babies and they were remodeled in the last few years, we will keep our carpet.

We are excited with the new upgrades taking place in the Preschool area. Please be patient with the process. We will let you know when we will be receiving new carpet for the hallways as well as the installation dates.

I want to make you aware of some things related to the new flooring.

  • Please be careful when moving furniture. If you want to move a piece in your room, please pick it up and carry it, rather than dragging it.
  • The new flooring will be easier to clean.
  • We are purchasing area rugs. I know the class noise will be louder until we place the rugs.

Playground

Just a reminder:

  • Instruct the children to leave the mulch ground cover in the mulch area and not carry it over to the blue surface.
  • Please do not wear shoes with spike heels on the playground. You may want to bring a change of shoes for your time of service.
  • Watch the children and remain nearby as they play. Accidents happen fast with preschoolers.

Differences in Boys and Girls

We are excited to have Mary Ann Bradberry with us on Wednesday, August 20, 6:30 – 7:30, in Baskin Chapel. She will address the differences in how boys and girls process information. Please join us. Childcare is available, but you need to make reservations by Monday noon, August 18.

Prayer Needs: STEP RIGHT UP

May I ask you to pray specifically for new teachers in our ministry? There are needs at 8:00, 9:30, and 11:00. You will notice a STEP RIGHT UP banner in our area this Sunday. We are in the midst of an enlistment campaign this month, and we ask for your prayers! We are about important business as we teach preschoolers about God, Jesus, the Bible, and the Church. We are literally laying a foundation for spiritual development. I thank you in advance for your faithfulness in payer for this initiative.

SEE YOU SUNDAY!

Good morning, Father.

Promotion Day at Brentwood Baptist Church brings new opportunities to share the love of Jesus. Help me embrace those that come my way. All roles of service in Preschool are important and depend on each other in order for the body of Christ to work. May each of us strive to be available, punctual, and prepared for service. Families entrusted to our care are valuable to You, Lord, and I covet to serve with excellence. Thank You for asking me to be a part of Your redemptive plan.

“You shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life.” (Philippians 2:15b)

In the power of Jesus’ name, Amen.
