Good morning, Father

During 2017 help me to be faithful in my prayer walk. It is most important that we who serve preschoolers remember to pray for the next generation. Teach me how to pray blessings for these children and their families.

As we approach the Fourth of July, we are reminded of the many freedoms we have in the United States of America. We give thanks for those men and women in times past, present, and future who gave, give, and will give of themselves to secure these rights. Father, as Christians, we know there is a more valuable freedom found in your Son, Jesus Christ. Guide the preschoolers and their families that I encounter to this truth, so that they will enjoy genuine freedom–freedom found only in Jesus Christ.

“So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed Him, ‘If you continue in My word, you really are My disciples. You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. . . . Therefore, if the Son sets you free, you really will be free.’ ” (John 8:31-32,36; HCSB)

There is a song on the radio by Tim McGraw, Always Be Humble and Kind. It’s a catchy tune with relevant life thoughts and actions. So today, Father, I am praying for the preschoolers I encounter to learn better how to be humble and kind. Only You can give me ideas to foster this. Only You can help me instill this into sweet little beings who are all about self, me, and mine. It’s their nature. But You know this and will help me to help them learn about being humble and kind. Thank You!

Have you seen the movie Miss Congeniality? It’s about contestants in the Miss United States Pageant and has a storyline intended to cause trouble. As the contest runs its course, the contestants are interviewed about their platform and of course they end their talk by saying that they want world peace. You come to see that everyone wants world peace.

But there is another peace, an inner peace and the desire to do what leads to peace, that only comes from God, the Father. Today, Father, I ask that You help me to be a peacemaker which will demonstrate to my preschoolers peace, true peace, so that they will desire it above all else.

“So then, we must pursue what promotes peace and what builds up one another.” (Romans 14:19, HCSB)

Oh the lazy, hazy days of summer are here at last! No schedules, fewer activities, and lighter routines are welcomed to us all. Father, it is still important that my preschoolers have a willingness and ability to work, to do chores, and to help others even when life has turned more relaxed. Help me to teach preschoolers their responsibility of beginning a task and finishing it, so that others will see their love for Jesus.

“Whatever you do, do it enthusiastically, as something done for the Lord and not for men.” (Colossians 3:23, HCSB)

Good morning, Father

Father, help me with strategy to resist attacks of the enemy. You are the Commander of my little army! I have spent two days working in my yard, pulling weeds so that I could plant flowers. Those weeds had roots that went deep and wove underground for miles! Well, not really but they were far reaching. If only, I had done a better job in the early spring. If only I had gone ahead and cleared out weeds when I saw them. If only . . . .

I read an article by Renee Davis from TheStay@HomeScribe. I am really liking this gal’s writings. If weeds are like our enemy in life, we need strategy to resist his attacks that go inward and deep. Here are a few ideas:

Pray Passionately. Heart felt, specific prayers that happen often, pierce heaven and causes God’s supremacy to rain down and drown out the enemy’s war cries. So that, You are filled with His supernatural power to over come. Trust God, your adversary is sent a message. Psalm 138:3–“On the day I called, You answered me; You increased strength within me.”

Read Scripture. The enemy wants you to think you are too busy to read the Bible so that he can keep you in the dark. God’s Word is life and true wisdom is housed here. Commit to read Scripture every day so that you can get wise to your enemy! Psalm 119:105– “Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light on my path.”

Thank Him. From sun up to sun down we have hectic schedules. The enemy wants you to focus on the haves and have nots. Make a list and purposefully and consciously give thanks. Giving God thanks opens a door for his presence and blessings in our lives. “A thief comes only to steal and to kill and to destroy. I have come so that they may have life and have it in abundance.” John 10:10

As children of God we are loved, strong, upheld, masterfully created, brave and free. God’s end result will cultivate blooming blessings. Not only do I want this for myself, but for the preschoolers I encounter.
