Good morning, Father

Children are a gift–an amazing blessing from You. As a BBC teacher, mentor, parent, grandparent, aunt, or uncle, you have the power to make a difference in their precious lives through prayer.

Father, prayer is the difference between letting things happen and making things happen. I ask that You surround these preschoolers at Brentwood Baptist Church with godly friends and relationships, both now and in the future. Guard them from those with wrong motives and harmful influences. If You may lead them to marry someday, be at work in their lives in powerful ways even now.  (1 Corinthians 13:4-8; 1 Corinthians 15:33; 2 Corinthians 6:14)

(Write down your children’s two best friends. Commit to praying over their lives and their particular influence in your children’s lives.)

Father, one of the hardest things to grasp is that we are sinners. Help me give my preschoolers an awareness of sin. Help them to be quick to confess when they’ve done wrong and have a heart to make it right. I desire that they not walk in condemnation or guilt, but in the freedom and forgiveness of Christ. May they grow in wisdom to learn from mistakes. (1 John 1:9; Romans 8:1-2; Psalm 51:10)

Suggestion: Think about a child’s specific sin struggle (For example: impatience or quick temper). Write it down and commit to pray for him/her–that God would make the child aware of his/her sin and feel the need for His grace. Look for ways to gently reveal the consequences of his/her sinfulness and the need for repentance. (Taken from 7 Ways to Pray When Your Child Goes Astray by Cindi McMenamin)

Father, You form the hearts of all. Today my desire is that You would give the preschoolers I encounter kind, loving, and compassionate hearts. As they go about their day, help them see the needs of those around them and extend grace and goodness. Help them offer forgiveness to others when others are not kind, do not share, or say something mean. Give me words and grace to affirm their actions.

“And walk in love, as the Messiah also loved us and gave Himself for us, a sacrificial and fragrant offering to God.” (Ephesians 5:2, CSB)
