Good morning, Father.

During 2016 help me to be faithful in my prayer walk. It is most important that we who serve preschoolers remember to pray for the next generation.

Today, I lift up the fathers of the preschoolers I encounter this week. Father, help them to know You better. Show each father how much You love him. Help him to make time to spend with You in Your Word and in prayer. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit so he can be the man You want him to be. After all, his actions overflow onto and into his children.

“How happy is the man . . . (whose) delight is in the Lord’s instruction, and he meditates on it day and night. He is like a tree planted beside streams of water that bears its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.” (Psalm 1:1a,2-3; HCSB)

Lord, sadly we live in a world where it is all about ME. What’s in it for ME, what about ME, why ME, etc. I pray today for myself, parents, and other leaders You have placed over today’s children. Help us teach the children about submission to those in authority. You knew we needed boundaries. That’s why You gave us the Ten Commandments. Give the children grace to obey and honor those in authority, so that they may enjoy long lives. Thank You for loving us and teaching us about authority. After all, You are the Great I Am.

“Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account, . . . .” (Hebrews 13:17, HCSB)

Father, You know my heart. I desire that these preschoolers I serve will continue growing and learning about You and one day choose to be a part of Your forever family through Jesus Christ. When they do, I am asking that Your joy will overflow as they are new creations in Christ. Strengthen them, for the enemy is prowling around. Just as you did with Jesus, may they grow in wisdom, statue, and favor.

Good morning, Father.

During 2016 help me to be faithful in my prayer walk. It is most important that we who serve preschoolers remember to pray for the next generation. Lord, as a preschool teacher, I have never considered myself a Christian mentor, but I am. As a believer, may I be mindful to share with my speech of Your praiseworthy deeds. Help me to be aware of my actions outside the church building. I never know when at the grocery, movie theater, or restaurant, who may be watching my integrity, speech, and reverence. I want to be a model of Your Son, Jesus, as I mentor others.  (Read Titus 2:2-8.)

Good morning, Father.

During 2016 help me to be faithful in my prayer walk. It is most important that we who serve preschoolers remember to pray for the next generation. As I pray for the preschoolers I will be with this week, I am thinking of their future as believers in Jesus Christ. I am thanking you for wooing them with Your Love to accept Christ as their Lord and Savior. I pray in confidence for the day that the Holy Spirit will come upon them and help them be powerful witnesses. Help me demonstrate my zeal for You in the day-to-day moments of life. I desire for them to have a hope that is in Christ Jesus. Thank You for the passion you will give them to be disciples of Jesus Christ.

Father, temptation is a hard concept to explain to preschoolers. It’s easy to be tempted to slide that cool matchbox car in our pocket to take home, walk out with that pretend cell phone in our purse, or jump place in line because we want to be first or next to a friend. Temptation begins at a young age. Help me teach boys and girls about being pure in thought, resisting dishonesty, and ignoring peer pressure so that they can make godly choices. Every person needs a moral compass; help me be a positive influence beginning with preschoolers.

Lord, use me to show and tell the preschoolers I will encounter that they can rely on you to meet all their needs. Sadly, we live in a world that values money, which is the root of all evil. Guard these children against the false perception that they never have enough. Help this generation view financial prosperity as a tool for Your Kingdom and themselves as responsible stewards. Show me my role in their development.

Good morning, Father.

During 2016 help me to be faithful in my prayer walk. It is most important that we who serve preschoolers remember to pray for the next generation.

Father, as I ponder the Easter we as Christians just celebrated, I realize that it is primarily about my heart response to Jesus and the cross. Help me to reflect in the coming days on this very event that my faith is founded upon: Jesus’ death and resurrection through which we have eternal life. Help me as I  work with preschoolers to truly reflect the work that Jesus accomplished here on earth. Remind my heart when I take the Lord’s Supper, see a beautiful sunset, or marvel at the birth of a newborn of the amazing things Jesus endured and overcame on my behalf. Sometimes in my sharing Your Word to these precious preschoolers, a lot is done even when I don’t say a word.

Lord, it is an amazing feeling to wake up on Easter as a believer and be greeted with a renewed sense of God’s love. To fully understand the celebration of Jesus’ resurrection and fully accept the joy of the season is such a blessing. Help me convey this to the preschoolers I will serve this week. May I be loving and kind to strangers who may visit our church. I ask the Holy Spirit to comfort children who are new to our church and give their parents a sense of belonging as they visit. Something as soothing as listening to favorite Easter hymns as I greet the families at the door on Easter morning may prepare a heart for worship.

He has risen! (Mark 16)

Good morning, Father.

During 2016 help me to be faithful in my prayer walk. It is most important that we who serve preschoolers remember to pray for the next generation.  Father, Easter is a unique holiday for Christians. Why? Because it carries weight. As I think of the preschoolers I will encounter this week, it is not easy to explain that Jesus had to be crucified, tortured, and hung on a cross so that the stone could be rolled away.  The details of Jesus’ painful suffering is horrifying and terrifying, especially to young children. Lord, help me to know where they are spiritually in their understanding so that I will realize how to start the conversation about Easter. May I focus on what I do around the resurrection and that Jesus loves them and will always be with them. Help me discover age-appropriate activities and resources that are available for me to use.
