Good morning, Father

Children are a gift–an amazing blessing from You. As a BBC teacher, mentor, parent, grandparent, aunt, or uncle, you have the power to make a difference in their precious lives through prayer.

Father, Your Son Jesus came to serve, not to be served. He is our example. Help me to serve others and be a good example to my kids. Give them a desire to serve and a heart to work hard.

“Serve with a good attitude, as to the Lord and not to people.” (Ephesians 6:7, CSB)

Father, our children are not allowed to be children in today’s society. Their maturity level and expectations for decisions and participation with peers are way too young. How I long for kids to just be kids. My prayer today is that you will help them to walk in purity and set a protection over their mouths, eyes, and minds. God, equip them to guard their hearts, staying focused on what is true and right. Show me my part in helping them to walk in purity even at such an early age. (Philippians 4:8; Proverbs 4:23; Psalm 119:9)

Choices. Preschoolers are always making choices. Considering their young age, they need guidance as they grow and develop. A child has so many choices to make: What activity do I go to? Do I finish what I started? Do I jump in front of someone in the line to go outside? Do I push the person who took away my block? Do I get mad when I do not get to go first? Can I be a friend to someone who is lonely?  Decisions, decisions, decisions.

Father, give your children wisdom and direction in making decisions. Teach them to listen closely to Your voice, so that they will obey Your Word, and desire right choices. Help me to guide and train them in the way they should go.  (James 1:5; Psalm 37:1; Proverbs 3:5-6)

Father, as You designed, walking is a healthy activity, good for our body. But we must be aware of the paths that our walks take us. As I pray for my preschoolers, I am thinking about the paths that they could possibly choose to walk down. It is my heart’s desire that they walk faithfully and diligently in God’s ways. I am asking God to make their footsteps firm, that His Word will be a lamp for their feet and a light to their path. Sounds like the only path to walk! (Psalm 119:105; Psalm 37:23)

Peer pressure–that is a hard one. Whether you are the preschooler or the parent, influences of the world tell them to “fit in.” Father, today I pray that the preschoolers I  influence and the parents I encounter will have a strong desire to live a life of pleasing You. May I demonstrate and encourage others to seek security and value in You alone and not people or things. (Proverbs 29:25; 1 Thessalonians 2:4; 1 John 2:15-17)

Father, I pray that Your children would walk in honesty and integrity. At an early age, build in them deep godliness, that they would be more concerned about their characters than their reputations. Show me how to teach what this means with my words and actions. May they always bring honor to You throughout their lives. (Psalm 25:21; Proverbs 10:9; Psalm 119:32)

Good morning, Father,

Father, it is of great value that I pray for and with the preschoolers I encounter. Show me teachable moments with each child and with the class as a whole. I want the girls and boys to be aware of the importance of following You above all else. I pray that they would show respect to those in authority, honor their parents, and do what is right. Good morning, Father

Children are a gift–an amazing blessing from You. As a BBC teacher, mentor, parent, grandparent, aunt, or uncle, you have the power to make a difference in their precious lives through prayer.

Father, I pray that You teach me how to demonstrate to the preschoolers I encounter how to live as salt and light in a dark world that desperately needs to know Truth. I want each of them to develop into wise leaders and influencers in this generation. (Matthew 5:13-16; Romans 12:1-2; Psalm 1:1-6)

Create prayer mantras for your children–reminders of who they are and what they should remember. Engrave it on their souls. For example, you might say: “Thank You, God, for ________ (insert child’s name) helpful ways.” “Look at you, growing in the athletic ability God blessed you with. Thank You, God, for  __________ (insert child’s name).”

Good morning, Father

Children are a gift–an amazing blessing from You. As a BBC teacher, mentor, parent, grandparent, aunt, or uncle, you have the power to make a difference in their precious lives through prayer.

Father, today I am praying that the preschoolers I encounter will walk in humility. May they not be drawn to a life of pride or conceit but would have a deep awareness of their value in Christ and their need for dependence on Him. (Titus 3:2; 1 Peter 5:5-6; James 4:6)

Ideas: Make prayer lists; keep a prayer journal; put prayer words as décor in your home; write lunch box notes; put prayers in a notebook to give to your child at graduation, off to college, and marriage.

Father, I desire to circle the promises of God around the preschoolers I serve. I pray that they would find their confidence, self-esteem, and security in Christ, knowing who they are in Him. Give them wisdom to know the deeper value of what is on the inside. May they grow to see as You see and focus on internal beauty and strengths. (1 Samuel 16:7; 1 Peter 3:3-4)
